Inside (2007)

  • An enjoyable 82 minute run time, short and sweet
  • The blood practical effects are fantastic and very realistic
  • Beatrice Dalle is a powerhouse and makes this movie as the intruder
  • Multiple stand out shots(most involving the intruder), thanks to its great cinematography
  • The carnage starts up after only 15 minutes and does not let up for the entire run time
  • The crown jewel of the Extreme French Horror Genre
  • Hand in the wall scene!
  • Interesting to see both sides of the horror, the victims side in the bathroom, and the intruders aspect of trying to get her out
  • Perhaps the worst birthing experience imaginable
  • The intruder walking around the house unnoticed before the carnage begins is unnerving, to say the least
  • The last 3 minutes of the film.....
  • There is something extremely unsettling about being so vulnerable while we sleep
  • One of my favorite horror movies of all time!

  • The special effects used for the fire scene look completely cheap
  • The ‘baby in the womb’ shots are completely unnecessary and the CGI looks terrible
  • Some people might have a problem with the inept police

Score: 10/10

Inside is my personal choice for the one best horror movie of the past 25 years. It's a must see movie for any horror fan, but more importantly, a gold mine for gore hounds. This is a fantastic cat and mouse game, though some might find it a bit too ridiculous, Inside is executed extremely well and features a powerhouse performance from Beatrice Dalle. After the first 12 minutes, the tension is so thick you could cut it with a knife, it's scary.
